Tamil Play: “AI Rocked, Yeman Shocked”

Event Overview & Abstract

On August 13, the brothers of the community presented an entertaining and thought-provoking Tamil play titled “AI Rocked, Yeman Shocked” for the religious of Yercaud. Blending humour, creativity, and a meaningful message, the play explored the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in today’s world and its impact on human life, relationships, and society. Through lively scenes, humorous dialogues, and imaginative storytelling, the performance invited the audience to reflect on the opportunities and challenges presented by rapidly advancing technology.

The play creatively portrayed how Artificial Intelligence is transforming various aspects of everyday life, often in unexpected and amusing ways. The character of Yeman, traditionally associated with the god of death, added a distinctive touch of humour to the storyline, creating entertaining situations while conveying a deeper message about the relationship between technology and humanity. Beyond the laughter and entertainment, the play encouraged the audience to consider the importance of human intelligence, wisdom, moral responsibility, and compassion in an increasingly technology-driven world. It emphasised that while AI can be a powerful tool for progress, it should always remain at the service of humanity.

The performance was the fruit of several days of dedicated preparation, rehearsals, coordination, and collaborative effort. Every brother contributed in different ways, whether through acting, script preparation, stage arrangements, technical assistance, or other responsibilities behind the scenes. Their willingness to work together, share their talents, and support one another demonstrated the true spirit of community and teamwork. The enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment of the brothers were evident throughout the performance.

The play received the appreciation of the religious community of Yercaud and provided an enjoyable occasion for fraternity, relaxation, and shared laughter. More than a theatrical performance, “AI Rocked, Yeman Shocked” became an opportunity for the brothers to showcase their talents, communicate a relevant social message, and demonstrate how creativity and humour can be used effectively to address contemporary issues. The evening remained a memorable experience for the audience and the performers alike, strengthening the bonds of fellowship within the religious community of Yercaud.
